My name is Cori Teppen. I am 48 years old. I grew up on the north shore 30 minutes north of Chicago. I went to Michigan State University, where I received a B.A. in psychology. Following my four years at MSU, I moved to Boulder Colorado. After a year in Colorado, I moved to the city of Chicago and began a masters program in Sociology at DePaul University. After completing that program I decided my passion was in working with individuals as opposed to studying groups. I began a two year masters program at Loyola University. I am a licensed clinical social worker by trade. I worked for 11 years as a child therapist. My first few years, post masters program, I worked in a therapeutic preschool, a psychiatric hospital and with foster children. My last 6 years I worked in a therapeutic day school and in private practice, where I worked mainly with children.
After getting married and having my first child, I made the decision to stay home. The past 11 years have been both rewarding and challenging. Now that my girls are in school during the day, I am able to focus on myself and further my development. With much thought and consideration, I followed my heart and began a new journey in my life and became a certified life coach.
