I’m Shelly Henriquez-Neill and since I was a little girl I’ve been making and creating space for people to share their stories and bring light and impact to their goals. I grew up on the beautiful island of Jamaica and as a child some of my favorite games to play outside with friends were “school” and “tell me”. Even at a young age those games taught me that when given the right support, people naturally embrace platforms and opportunities to help them lead from where they are with confidence and authenticity. So you see, facilitation and coaching comes naturally to me and has always been my thing. Today I’m a talent management, learning and organizational development professional with over 25 years of experience coaching small groups and individuals serving social good. I’ve always had a solid focus on supporting BIPOC professionals in these spaces and at the end of the day my passion lies in helping my community build bridges toward their goals.
In addition to being a leadership coach, I’m the Director of Learning and Development for an established Baltimore-based organization supporting frontline workers in senior living communities. In my spare time I’m a martial arts practitioner and instructor – specifically the internal arts of Tai Ji, Qigong, Ba Gua and Xing Yi. I’ve had the privilege of competing in local, international and world tournaments and have been teaching Tai Ji and Qigong for over 10 years at Grandmaster Huang, Chien-Liang’s U.S. Kuo Shu Academy.
